SCARC Scholarships
The Stanwood-Camano Amateur Radio Club is proud to sponsor and fund the annual Herb Katzenberger Memorial Scholarship. Typically, we offer one $500 scholarship annually.
Qualifications: Applicants must
- be enrolled in or have been accepted for enrollment at an accredited
university, college or technical school on a full-time basis.
- have a current valid amateur radio license.
- be graduating from a high school in the greater Stanwood area (Stanwood, Lakewood, Arlington).
Recipients of this scholarship may re-apply before commencing their 2nd year of study.
Objectives: to promote the hobby of Amateur Radio and to encourage and support young people of the Stanwood-Camano area in continuing their education beyond high school.
Criteria: The following are some of the criteria we use.
- Academic achievement
- Extra-cirricular activities both in school and in the community
- Ham radio interest and activity
- Future plans, goals and ambitions
- Recommendations from teachers and/or supervisors [suggested]
Schedule: Written applications must be submitted by April 30th. Scholarship awards are decided by May 31st.
Application process: Print the form below, complete the information requested therein and mail prior to the deadline above. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the school.
